GOALS
Construction of an effective, accessible and sustainable network of social, health and rehabilitation services, capable of covering the needs of the most vulnerable people in the Juba area, with a global approach
BENEFICIARIES
people who access the Usratuna Health Center and other Health Centers present in the territory of Juba;
children accessing the Usratuna Rehabilitation Center;
children entering the Usratuna Preschool
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Improvement of the availability and quality of basic health services, for people residing in the Urban IDP Camps and in the host communities of Juba
- Training of managers and coordinators of Health Centers
- Reorganization of the services offered by each Health Center in the area
- Reorganization of Health Centers for the creation of a reference system, with particular attention to mother-infant health
- Reorganization of the data collection system, in collaboration with the Ministry and the Country Health Department
Training and technical updating of internal and external operators at Health Centers
- Drafting of a strategic plan for the promotion and prevention of diseases and disabilities in the city of Juba - in collaboration with the Ministry of Health
- Drafting and implementation of a plan for the prevention of easily avoidable disabilities
- Improvement of the availability and quality of socio-rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities in the Juba area
- Training and technical updating of rehabilitation personnel operating in the city of Juba, in partnership with the Ministry of Health
- Strengthening of the Physiotherapy Service of the Usratuna Rehabilitation Center through training and integration of new staff
- Training of local occupational therapy (currently non-existent in South Sudan)
- Training on sign language for health personnel within Health Centers and children with hearing disabilities, also involving parents and caretakers
- Enhancement of the Speech Therapy service of the Usratuna Rehabilitation Center
- Drafting and implementation of a three-year development plan for the Usratuna Rehabilitation Center
- Definition of a vertical reference network of the Usratuna Rehabilitation Center
