ACHIEVED RESULTS: The project aimed to strengthen the Community-based Integrated Development Model - created with the local partner Usratuna Sudanese Association for Disabled Children (USADC) at the level of accessibility, and to spread it in the state of Khartoum. At the end of the project 8 students, with a scholarship funded by the project, have completed the degree course. 210 children in orphanages received an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) and more than 23,000 people were informed about hygiene and disability issues. Thanks to the training activity in schools, the support teacher works in agreement with the Ministry and 57 children with disabilities have been placed in primary schools, 104 young people from VTC have participated in internships, 13 of them have found work in local companies, 37 young people started micro-enterprise activities.

 

“Implementation of the Family Health approach in Dar El Salam – Khartoum State”

ACHIEVED RESULTS: The accessibility assessment of the health centers of Umbedda has been carried out and published. The first training in Family Health organized the first campaign on COVID-19. 156 health workers in the Umbedda area have been trained and apply a family health approach in their daily work for a total of 180 hours of training. Access to the health service increased in the target area, as did the delivery and scope of services. 7364 patients and 56 visits per month on average by nutritionists and midwives. The local community was sensitized and educated to good sanitation practices in line with a Family Health approach, involving 4893 people with 12 events and 7713 students.

ACHIEVED RESULTS: Pediatric patients followed: 6,462; 181 children and pregnant women vaccinated; 244 vaccine doses distributed. 714 women benefited from maternity services and 691 women received information on HIV and sexually transmitted diseases through the counseling service; 16,500 people were reached by the COVID-19 awareness campaign; 15,000 people were reached by the awareness campaign on the use of chlorine; 1,200 people reached by the distribution of mosquito nets against malaria.

ACHIEVED RESULTS: Mobile clinic service launched for rehabilitation activities in the area. Primary school teachers trained to welcome and support children with medium-mild disabilities who attended the Usratuna Preschool. Children with medium-mild disabilities have been placed in ordinary schools in the area. Expanded training offer of the Vocational Training Center. Continuing training of SIBC volunteers. Drafted guidelines for the scholastic integration of children with disabilities presented to the local authorities.

RESULTS ACHIEVED: Guaranteed professional training for vulnerable young people at risk of emigration, to facilitate job placement on site. Pedagogical folder updated and study curricula prepared for new courses. The kits have been given to students who have finished their study path to start an independent activity. Improved the system of job offer-demand meeting and start of post-diploma internships aimed at hiring. Awareness raising activities have been carried out on the local territory on the issues of illegal migration

RESULTS ACHIEVED: Launch of a mobile clinic service for healthcare services on the territory. Launch of the acute malnutrition management service at the DES Health Center, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. Distribution of powdered milk to children and pregnant women in a state of malnutrition. Breastfeeding Promotion. Sensitization on correct hand washing (chlorine and soap distribution). Vaccination service and pediatric assistance for children who access the Health Center. Pre-postnatal service for women and micronutrient distribution to reduce the risk of disability in the fetus. Reference for children with disabilities to the OVCI Rehabilitation Center (reached via mobile clinic)
